CASE STUDY
Katherine & Sam’s Wardrobe
The Challenge:
Katherine & Sam live in East Grinstead and as part of their house renovation replaced their boiler, freeing up a large cupboard space to the side of their master bedroom. In addition, their master bedroom had a wall to wall dated sliding wardrobe that aligned with the new cupboard space. The idea was to knock through the bedroom wall into the cupboard space and replace the existing wardrobe with a condensed, modern design which allowed space to add an ensuite.
The Solution:
It was important that the ensuite design allowed for a usable space and so, as part of the design we focused on the ergonomics of the area and ensured that the new room comfortably fit a walk in shower, toilet and a small sink with storage. Once the floor plan was agreed, new stud walls were built and the pipework was installed. To provide additional storage space, two alcoves were included within the shower walls, to allow for daily toiletries. In addition, to maximise the space, a compact toilet cistern was also built into the stud walls.
The remainder of the same wall within the master bedroom was then available for the new built in wardrobes. To optimise all space available, the design incorporated three overhead cupboards, with two full length wardrobes. The Wardrobes included three half height hanging rails and three internal drawers. To the right of the wardrobes, a large alcove was included for the TV and this sat on top of three spacious drawers. As standard all our cupboard and wardrobe drawers are fitted with soft-close hinges and for our drawers we use Blu motion soft close drawer runners, which in our years of experience, provide the best quality.
The finish for the wardrobe was our signature Fusion style, which combines oak frontage with matt white and this complimented the internal oak panel doors that we also installed within the master bedroom. To finish, we fitted a mixture of brushed chrome handles which again, tie in with the other features of both the new ensuite and the bedroom.
Katherine & Sam we’re surprised with the space available both in the new ensuite and fitted wardrobes and pleased that it did not impact the spacious feel of their master bedroom.
